Voice Lessons Are Not Just For Kids
Many people consider voice lessons to be an activity just for children. It is true that I teach a lot of children and teens but I really love working with adults too. Adults understand the investment they are making in themselves. There is usually more motivation and committed involved, which ends up giving an excellent return on that investment. Adults usually have realistic expectations. They enjoy the process of learning and creating. They realize the journey is just as important as the destination. Adults have life experience. We have loved. We have lost. We have felt happiness, insecurities, pain, grief. No one gets to adulthood unscathed. All of these experiences make it easier to color a song with the appropriate emotions.
We all have to start somewhere, and getting past the mental block of ‘I’m too old to do this’ opens up the door to so many different possibilities for you in life. You can enjoy singing and be successful regardless of your age. Taking time out for a voice lesson is doing something for YOU and you alone. Trying something new keeps your brain and body working. So start singing now, and stay forever young.
