As elementary as this assignment may appear on the surface, it is an outstanding way to get your singers to truly relate to their vocal profile and to embrace their skills and challenges as singers. Physically coloring them (as opposed to printing them) creates a more intimate, kinesthetic connection to the experience, giving it more personal connection and value for the singer.
It is also HIGHLY recommended that you, the parent or guardian, also do your own profile to share with your homeschooler. This will open up honest discussions about the differences between everyone’s voices, building empathy and personal connections through the cultural lens of being vocalists (singers and non-singers).
