Vocal Music Listening Log Assignments

Guide

These assignments are a natural follow-up to each of the Vocal Music Journal entries where your homeschooler will select a song by an artist who they feel demonstrates, at a skilled level of proficiency, the dimension that the log focuses on.

The student must explain why their choice supports the dimension, and reflect upon what enables the artist to demonstrate proficiency over this dimension in the recording. Finally, students are to list other artists they are familiar with that demonstrate proficiency over the dimension.

The Listening Logs also provide a rich foundation for the student to engage in discussion through a “play and tell” scenario with you, the parent or guardian.
