The 7 Dimension Webgraph

The key to the 7 Dimensions of Singing is breaking down the mechanical complexities of the voice into a way that’s easy to understand. The webgraph allows you to see your current vocal skills relative to each dimension. More importantly, it helps you identify which type of exercises will be needed to create a more balanced voice to maximize YOUR abilities as a singer. After learning how the webgraph works in the video below, scroll down to start working on the dimension of your voice that needs the most attention today!

Your Vocal Profile Results

According to your initial Vocal Profile assessment, the dimension of range is the best place for you to start your journey. Range refers to the vocal balance (muscle coordination) from lowest to highest pitch available. Developing a functional range of notes to sing is important so that we don’t crack between vocal registers or strain on high notes. Try this course exercise below to discover how you can develop your range and take your voice to new heights! Once you’re comfortable with the exercise, practice often with the piano track (MP3).

Exercise Components

Formant: Oo/Ee/Ah  |  Feature: N/A  |  Pattern: G1-3-1-5-1-8-1  |  Volume: Medium  |  Tempo: Slow  |  Variable: N/A

Need to make it easier?

Lower the volume. A smaller degree of subglottic pressure that comes with reducing the volume level will make it easier to transition between registers and reduces the level of difficulty for range, tone, articulation and strength.

Want to make it more challenging?

Keep an Ah throughout the exercise. The open position of this formant requires better management of air and more vocal strength, challenging the coordination of the muscles associated with articulation and range.
